[Fairfax, VA – May 2025] – Brain Injury Services is pleased to announce the appointment of Angela M. Ostrom and Erica Savage Wilson to its Board of Directors.
Ms. Savage Wilson, CEO of Evolve Savvy Group, has a profound personal connection to brain injury. After being struck twice by an 18-wheel truck in March 2021, she suffered multiple injuries, including a brain injury. This life-altering experience inspired her to pivot her career toward mental health and wellness. Her journey as a polytrauma patient, involving nine practitioners, greatly influenced her current work as a wellness lifestyle consultant, trainer, and coach.
“I am honored to join the Board of Directors at Brain Injury Services,” said Ms. Savage Wilson. “My personal experience with brain injury has given me a deep understanding of the challenges faced by individuals in similar situations. I look forward to contributing to the organization’s mission of providing support and resources to those affected by brain injuries.”
Ms. Savage Wilson’s professional background includes launching The Reframed Brain, a podcast and platform that highlights brain health and the disproportionate impact of dementia and Alzheimer’s on Black and Brown communities. Her bi-monthly podcast and weekly newsletter educate thousands of subscribers about brain health, making her a prominent advocate.
In addition to her work with The Reframed Brain, Ms. Savage Wilson has been a key figure in civic and community planning, political action initiatives, and grassroots movement organizing. She has served in various roles, including Director of Outreach at Eleison Group/Public Democracy, where she supported US humanitarian efforts in South Sudan, and as a Financial Management Analyst for the Department of Defense Programs & Resources.
“We are thrilled to have Erica join our Board of Directors,” said Brain Injury Services CEO Donna Meltzer. “Her unique blend of professional expertise and personal experience will be invaluable in advancing our mission and supporting our community.”
Brain Injury Services is dedicated to improving the lives of individuals impacted by brain injury through our comprehensive programs and services, education, and advocacy.
