Advocacy Trip to Richmond

When it comes to advocating for causes you believe in, using your voice matters!

On February 10th 2016, a group of clients, staff members, and volunteers from Brain Injury Services went to Richmond to use their voices to advocate for our cause – supporting and empowering survivors of brain injury, stroke and concussion. By scheduling meetings with our local state legislators, our group was able to join a collective movement across the state called Brain Injury Awareness Day and bring a unique message of appreciation to those who represent our service area.

In 2015 Virginia state legislature approved a budget which increased funding for brain injury. This increase in funding has afforded Brain Injury Services the opportunity to hire an additional adult case manager as well as a certified therapist to work with some of our most vulnerable clients. The continued support of our legislators, along with our amazing volunteers and donors like you, allows for Brain Injury Services to be a leader in the state when it comes to advocating for survivors.

When you stand with us, we are able to take a stand for survivors of brain injury and meet the needs of one of the most underfunded and underserved populations in our state.
