2. Your Story
Sharing your story is the most effective way to get their attention. Whether you are a survivor, caregiver, friend, professional, or concerned community member, if your life has been impacted by brain injury you should share your story.
If you have a story to tell, a desire to create change, an interest in public policy, or just want to lend a helping hand to a vulnerable population in our community – your legislator needs to hear from you!
Your story should:
- Tell them why you care.
- Describe a program you attend or a service you get and tell how it helps you.
- If you are writing from an area where programs have waitlists, or from an area where there are no services available, then tell them how services could make a difference in your life.
Practice sharing your story by writing it down.
