What I Need Now To be held by a grandmother tree. Nestled against her strong trunk, enveloped by gnarly limbs that have known joy and pain. To feel shielded, contained, safe. To walk on supple, yielding, ground. The earth absorbing my footfalls, and the heavy load that I am carrying. To hear the birds’ call-and-response song. Wondering what messages – trite or profound – they are passing along. Or if they are simply saying, “you are not alone”. To gaze out on forever and now. Mountains and rivers that are too far away to crowd me – as people often do. Expansive views that invite me to take deep, life-saving breaths. To be reminded, as nature does so eloquently, that what has been destroyed will not be restored, but new growth can emerge in unexpected places. To know that words aren’t necessary for conversation, there is beauty in brokenness, life is fragile…walk gently. I need to be held by a grandmother tree. To hear her say that it will be okay, that I too will survive.

My Journey It started as an easy ride On the open road I made friends along the way Going from rest stop to rest stop I lost some friends, and made some new ones too There was an accident And I thought the journey was over After being in the hospital, I got back on the road It wasn't easy at first getting Back on the road, but I Had to reach the destination. Shifting gears and changing lanes. I wouldn't stop I wouldn't let that set back stop me from Continuing my journey No matter what I'll reach my destination.

My Mom and Family “An important wakeup call that was life or death” We have been through the most beautiful life together. Through ups and downs, heart breaks, and triumphs. You all stuck with me through it all. I was so ungrateful for every bad tear I caused you and heart I broke while opening a better life. I love the connection I feel with you all. I know you thought it was over after my car hit but there is still so much life to live and change. I'm hurt and broken now. It's time to put my pieces back together again. Thank you so much for the years of support, word of mouth promotion, and love. You all are part of my heart to make that serious change (addiction) and have a better life to live.
