SUMMARY:Human Library Experiment
DESCRIPTION:The Speaker’s Bureau of Brain Injury Services invites survivors and community members who could benefit from hearing peer stories one-on-one to join them for the HUMAN LIBRARY EXPERIMENT. \n\n\n\nThe Speaker’s Bureau comprises survivor volunteers who educate and inspire members of our community through their stories of surviving a brain injury. \n\n\n\nModeled after the concept in Copenhagen\, Denmark\, the Human Library creates a safe dialogue space where topics are openly discussed between our human “books” and their “readers.” All of our human “books” are from Speaker’s Bureau volunteers who have personal experience sharing their stories. This is where difficult questions are expected\, appreciated\, and answered. Have a coffee\, check out a human “book\,” and learn something new that may help you in your recovery journey or awareness. \n\n\n\nFor more information on the Human Library\, visit: www.humanlibrary.org \n\n\n\n\n\nPlease RSVP:

SUMMARY:Ambiguous Loss Workshop
DESCRIPTION:Ambiguous loss is sometimes referred to as a goodbye without leaving. In a society that promotes closure and often adds a measure of toxic positivity\, how do BIS clients engage with the loss of their prior identity without necessarily having a clear sense of their future? What is the role of neuroplasticity in that journey? Join Deborah Ross as we explore these questions with two writing techniques that can help smooth some of the bumps on the journey.
